Materials Specialist II

Location: Indianapolis, IN

Summary

The Materials Specialist II will support the company’s materials operations, as well as the procurement process. Receive and process incoming inventory, manage material movement and purchase items in support of company operations.

 

Duties and Responsibilities 

Procure inventory to maintain necessary stock levels to support production and service.

Procure materials and office supplies.

Monitors inventory levels required for production.

Solve procurement related issues and escalate as appropriate.

Maintain and file purchase orders of goods ordered and received.

Maintain and update the product information in the system including items, descriptions, and pricing.

Organize and maintain inventory.

Receive, and put away incoming inventory items.

Inspect products for defects and damages.

Check, verify and fill customer orders.

Prepare outgoing shipments.

Ensure serial/ lot number traceability is maintained in warehouse.

Pull material(kit) to full-fill job cards, material requests and sales orders.

Assemble kits for customer orders

Operate pallet jack; push, pull to move material on skids/crates.

Able to lift objects up to 50 lbs. as needed.

Follow and meet all safety and quality procedures and standards.

Contribute ideas on ways to improve and optimize material movements.

Communicate and work closely with Director of Supply Chain & Materials Team

All other duties, as assigned.

 

Qualifications/Specifications

Purchasing experience required.

Previous material handling experience preferred, but not required.

Comprehensive understanding of procurement processes, ERPs, & logistics systems

Effective communication.

Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, Outlook

Strong math skills

Strong multitasking skills

Previous experience in the medical device industry, or other regulated industry preferred, but not required

Attention to detail

Manage time effectively

Team player and problem solver

Effective verbal and written communication skills.
