The Supply Planner will take an analytical approach to planning for inventory levels. The goal is to maintain efficient supply chain operations They will crunch numbers, monitor inventory, and make predictions to determine how much stock to have on hand, which can fluctuate frequently due to changes in demand.
Audits and analyses elements including forecasting, demand planning and other supply chain processes of assigned product families or sales channels
Provides analyses as required by supply chain management functions
Predicting material usage to assist the company in avoiding having too little inventory, or too much inventory to meet demands
Recommend changes to the way the company handles inventory
Create, review and release purchase requisitions for purchases
Assist in performing material cycle counts
Investigates inventory errors and determines root cause
Assist in internal and external material audits
Anticipate factors that might influence demand, such as seasonal slowdowns or world events
Collaborate with operations, production, and other supply chain department team members
Performs proactive follow-up with suppliers to assure delivery at agreed time in order to meet production needs; may prepare periodic reports
Assist in responding to internal and external Customer inquiries and any changes relating to Customer orders in a prompt and professional manner.
Initiate corrective action when required and keep the team informed of critical decisions and status changes.
Work with team members to problem solve operational issues relating to materials, delivery, quality, and inventory

Strong understanding of the supply chain process
Problem-solving and analytical skills
Attention to detail and ability to focus on numbers for long periods
Ability to count inventory and sometimes move heavy objects while monitoring and managing the current inventory
Deal with change well since the job involves lots of fluctuation in demands and factors influencing decisions
Demonstrated experience in key areas of supply planning, such as data modeling, production planning or materials planning
Two to four years of experience in logistics or supply chain management in a Supply Planner position
AS/BS degree preferred, however equivalent relevant experience may be substitutes for formal education
Creative and can think outside the box to improve the supply chain process
Strong Microsoft Office experience (specifically Outlook, Word, Excel, and SharePoint)
Experience with ERP systems, specifically NetSuite
