SERVICE ENGINEER

The Role

The Service Engineer should be a detail-oriented, deadline-driven candidate who is excited about joining a growing company. The Service Engineer’s responsibilities include repairing faults, servicing equipment, creating preventative maintenance strategies, and updating user manuals. You should provide friendly, efficient service at all times.


To be successful in this role, the Service Engineer should be knowledgeable about machines and willing to accept constructive criticism. Ultimately, an outstanding service engineer will exhibit resourcefulness as well as superb active listening and troubleshooting skills.


Responsibilities

Service

  • Service & maintain all equipment in use worldwide.

  • Approve ultrasound equipment as safe for use by conducting tests as outlined in procedure; ensure adherence to set procedures and codes of practice; make factory approved modifications and upgrades as set out in ‘Service Bulletins’ &/or as outlined in procedure.

  • Install new ultrasound equipment by commissioning calibrating and testing performance.

  • Maintain ultrasound equipment by completing preventive maintenance schedules; conducting tests; following manufacturers’ instructions; troubleshooting, repairing diagnosed faults and if needed calling for expert advice from the manufacturer.

  • Maintain ultrasound equipment supplies inventory.

  • Travel to domestic & international customer sites (specifically to provide engineering services per description). Services are primarily rendered weekdays (Monday-Friday); however, some travel and service requirements may occur on weekends (Saturdays and Sundays), as required. Travel to customer sites may occur during business working hours as well as non-business hours.

  • Organize logistics for both consumables and device movements for treatments.

  • Document servicing and complaint handling activities in accordance with company procedures and external regulatory requirements.

  • Co-ordinates and implements all mobile and static Sonablate logistics.

  • Address all daily administrative tasks in relation to the workshop/Service Depot.

Support

  • Provide telephone support to users, engineers & distributors across all territories.

  • Train users to utilize equipment in a safe manner including first line test procedures as outlined in procedure.

  • All other duties, as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering or Biomedical Engineering Technology, preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • A minimum of 1-3 years related experience, required.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, in English, required.

  • Electromechanical analysis and troubleshooting experience and knowledge, preferred.

  • Excellent time management and organizational skills, required.

  • Technical writing and QC/QA systems experience, preferred.

  • Exposure to Hazards: electromechanical equipment, heavy lifting up to 50 pounds, occasionally.

  • Extensive travel (over 50%), domestic and international
