Service Engineer

Location: Charlotte, NC

Summary

Support and service SonaCare Medical equipment by installing, testing, calibrating, updating, upgrading and repairing ablative ultrasound equipment in a safe manner.

Duties and Responsibilities

Evaluate equipment by conducting tests, ensuring adherence to manufacturer standards, and making modifications and factory upgrades.

Uncrate, install and crate equipment and perform calibrations and manufacturer recommended tests.

Maintain equipment by completing preventive maintenance schedules; conducting performance and calibration tests following manufacturer instructions; troubleshooting and repairing malfunctions; conducting field upgrades; calling manufacturer for special service and recommendations when out of his/her scope of knowledge.

Evaluate equipment performance by studying machine-patient interaction by conferring with equipment users and collaborating with equipment manufacturers.

May include training clinical staff on equipment as needed.

Maintain equipment supplies and parts inventory.

Prepare biomedical reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends.

Maintain a safe and healthy working environment by conducting safety tests on equipment.

Travel to customer sites and provide engineering services per description. Services may be provided on weekends as well as weekdays as required per schedule.

Able to read and understand Procedures associated but not limited to the above indicated Duties and Responsibilities.

All other duties, as assigned.

Qualifications/Specifications

Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering or Biomedical Engineering Technology preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.

A minimum of 1 year related experience.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.

Electromechanical analysis and troubleshooting experience and knowledge preferred.

Excellent time management and organizational skills.

Project Management, Technical Writing and QC/QA Systems experience a plus.

Exposure to Hazards: electromechanical equipment, heavy lifting up to 50lbs occasionally.

Extensive domestic travel, over 50%.
